We are describing the latest release of eight new Painted Ponies figurines because the selections were made in response to a question in the Gallop Poll: What are your favorite Painted Pony designs? Most of you said you liked Native Ponies best. In second place was Western, and then came Patriotic Ponies.

With this in mind, the Summer 2008 release consists of four Native Ponies, three Western Ponies and one Patriotic Pony.
A range of expressions can be found in the Native Ponies. Two of the Ponies - "Wounded Knee" and "Runs the Bitterroot" - are moving tributes to tragic events in tribal history. "Sundancer" captures the essence of a powerful ceremony that was believed by Plains Indians to restore their early glory, and "Kachina Pony" wonderfully represents a Native spirit of hopefulness. Since the start of The Trail, Native America has been a rich source of creativity which is continued with this release.
